XDSC Range Report 7

Range Date: 8/26/07 (late in getting this one posted, reports 1-6 are in the archive, and no target pics this report)

Weapon: XDSC9, NIB Feb 2007, cleaned & oiled, 7th range session, used stock 10-round mags x2 (my defense setup)

Round count: As of this date, 1523 total using various ammo from multiple mfgrs all listed in previous range reports

Shooting atmosphere: Indoor range, I was the only shooter on the line (sweet), temps were perfect ~mid 70’s Fahrenheit with no noticeable humidity and very little “felt” air movement.

Targets: Center-Fire Defender (No. 645-CF) and National Target B-34 RC

Ammo:
· Remington UMC 9mm 115 Gr. MC, 50 rounds
· Federal Premium 9mm 124 Gr. Hydra-Shok JHP, 24 rounds
· Federal Premium 9mm 124 Gr. HST, 14 rounds

Note: The low round count with the XD on this date was due to focusing on my SP101. I needed to get my snubbie .357/.38 practice in and I put 200+ rounds down-range with the Ruger as well.

Summary: Another great day at the range, I really enjoyed it and shot well overall with both weapons. This XD sub continues to exceed my expectations in every way and I cannot say enough good about "my little plastic 9!" No FTF's / FTE's or other problems during this session (see report 6 for my only documented problems to-date). Lastly, I have settled on Federal Premium 9mm 124 Gr. HSTs for my current HD load of choice. Next session will be "all XD time" (ok...ok...and a little 1911 .45 time as well) and I plan to run 300 UMC 115gr and 50 124gr HSTs through er'. Bottom-line, I continue to really like this weapon and I am 100%confident with its abilities and mine if ever needed for its intended purpose.

I feel the same way, except for maybe my performance with my XDSC9. I need some more range time.

I really enjoy your range reports. Please keep them coming as they do add a lot to the forum.
