My XD-45 Tactical Range Report

I love this new XD-45ACP Tactical. I'm getting damn good with it. Took it out to the range for the 2nd time today and WOW this thing shoots great. This pic is from 15 yards with Blaser Brass

And this one is at about 27 yards with the same ammo

My wife was with me and kinda getting bored so I kinda shot them a little faster than I wanted. And here is one of me with my XD-9 Service and a small hint of the DON HUME that keeps my XD-9 Subby in place.

Is a Compact or a Tactical there is a difference.

Only one. He's got a tactical 45 and a 9mm service. I really like those tacticals, they've been really trying to talk my wallet into a purchase.

They make a Compact tactical now... 5" barrel with the shortened grip and/or sleeve to make it full size...

In the XD, "Compact" is the "short grip." "Sub-Compact" is the 3" bbl. I have a 45 XD Compact Tactical. It's hot. 14 rd. capacity and full length bbl. that hangs a Glock GTL 21 off the rail and the bbl. extends beyond the front edge of the light, so the laser doesn't get muzzle blasted.

I have an SA 1911 "Mil Spec." and an "Ultra Compact, Loaded." I wanted a full size, flull-length, high cap 45 ACP. XD is the way to go. -- For open carry or in the vehicle. It "carries" with the short mag on the belt under a large shirt just fine. But I wouldn't do it day in and day out.

These posted targets look a lot like mine. 10 yds and all's tight. Back at 25 yds and they start to spread, but still center of mass on a torso.

The two mags on this gun is nearly a half box of ammo. That's a lot of firepower.

My question was because the Springfield website did not list a compact tactical nor have any shown up in our great northwest sportgoods shop. I have a Service & Compact XD45 and a Tactical XD45 in layaway so I don't see a compact tactical as any advantage.

The XD's replace 1911's that are valued at twice that of an XD because if the police ever get their hands on it, the value will be the same as a rock is a paper weight.

You can "make" your own Compact Tactical when you get your standard sized Tactical, just swap the barrel/slides

I really like my Compact Tactical, I like to carry what I shoot most at the range, and since I end up shooting my Tacticals mostly, it's nice to have the short grip on a Tactical for carry.

By the way, great shooting Sonyman74..........
