xd 45 compact at the range today...
I took my new toy to the range today for the first time. It took about two 13 round mags to get the hang of the sights and point of aim. By my last mag I was almost all in the black, not great but they would have all been in the chest. With some more practice I am sure I will improve greatly. Trijicon sights will be here on monday or tuesday. After some more practice I'm going for my ccw.

My Trijicon sights came yesterday, ran out to Accuracy Speaks and had them installed, then because Rio Salado was closing I went over to Caswell's Indoor range and burned through a couple boxes of ammo.
The Trijicon sights in my opinion made a huge difference as far as visibility. I also tried the straight thumb grip that I read about with live ammo this time and my hits were all in the black well with in the inner rings and head of the target at any distance. I had a few outside in the white because I was getting comfortable with the new grip at the beginning. I am very pleased and even had a guy come over and ask about my XD.

Cool. I have Trijicon's on order from Trijicon directly, and I can't wait to install them on my XD-45c.
Did you order yours from Trijicon, and if so what was you actual lead time before they shipped?

hey xdinaz were i live that is all that it takes is 50 rounds in the 8 ring to get a 100% and pass anything out side of that counts as 2 points deducted from your grade but sound like your doing pritty good keep practiceing .

in az we only have to shoot 10 shots for our ccw, 5 at 3 or 5 yards (can't remember) and 5 at 7 yards.
doesn't really inspire confidence but hey it is on the individual to keep his/her skills up.
