First 250 through yesterday...

I picked up my XD 9 Tactical on Thursday night, and as it was such a lovely day yesterday, decided to take it to the range. My buddy and I put 250 rounds of Remington UMC 115 gr FMJ ($47.99/250 ct box at Sportsman's Warehouse) through the gun. We would load magazines to 10 rounds, and switch shooters after 2 magazines. My first 20 rounds were perfect. Eric's had two hiccups, one with each magazine. One was a FTE, and I'm not exactly sure what the seconds one was. As it has been 20 years since he had a pistol in his hands (he has shot reveolvers competitively), he chalked the mishaps up to something that he possibly did (limp wrist maybe?). The remaining 170 rounds went off without a hitch.

The only problem we both had was pulling shots to the left. Rather than jumping all over the gun sights, we felt that this was due to our inexperience with the weapon. Prior to shooting the XD, we shot my Rugar Mk II, and I was pulling some of those shots to the left, too. Yeah, I don't get out much. The XD will change that! The next time out, I'll put the gun in a bench rest as see where I go from there.

CN: Great gun! Great fun!

New XD shooters often pull their shots low and left. As you get comfortable with the trigger this should correct itself. Keep us posted on your progress. You have a great pistol.
