Failure to eject

I got to the range today with my XD 9 Tac. and am having a problem with feeding and ejecting light bullets.

I bought some reman. ammo from Ultramax(125 grn RNL). this ammo will not cycle the gun. When I tried my own 147 grn handloads everything was fine. Also tried some WWB 115grn and had the same problem.

I was wondering if the recoil spring is too heavy for the lighter bullets? has anyone else had this problem.

Iam getting ready to order new bullets but now I am unsure of the weight I want to get. Any help in this would be great.

My XD9 Tac works fine with 115g WWB. I can't say about the Ultramax because I quit buying theirs. It hisses me off that they won't label the boxes..."Remanufactured 9mm"...now that tells me a lot.

I have the same problem too using WWB wallyworld ammo numerous FTE.
I even tried the WWB 124 grain pak and had 3 FTE.
Its only WWB ammo that does this. I did a google search on WWB FTE last night and found numerous sites with gun owners having problems with WWB. Also did a search on this site in ammo section and saw many posts regarding WWB with FTE/problems.

I swapped my XD9tac spring for a 16lb spring and it digests everything I can throw at it now. To me the gun is snappier but come back to the target better.

Hey "Knight of Light" You said you changeds the spring to a 16# unit. Where did you get that, and did it fit the factory rod? I have added a new rod but it is of original size from Scott Springer. He made a comment when I spoke to him via phone, that this can cause a problem with being too snappy. Have you had any problems with this.

For XD9, Wolff 1911 springs fit the stock or Don's Guide Rod. Look in the Don's Guide Rod forum FAQ for specifics.

I do not have a "snappy" gun. I have a fast cycling gun. LOL sorry Scott. Kydoc is right on. Wolff springs has all you would ever need for any spring for just about every gun. Governemnt Model springs work in the XD9tac and XD40tac. They do not fit the XD45. You can get them from Pistol Gear as well. I shoot with the 16lb spring in competition so if you want to see how it looks you can go here.

Thanks for the info. I am going to work on what I have for now, But I see a new spring as well as a back up for the stock spring in the future. I can't say enough about the way the guns shoots though. Scott has worked his magic on the gun.

Thanks Again
Dave

FWIW. I fired about 350 rds of WWB thru my XD9 tactical (brand new) and never had a failure of any sort. I have read where things loosen up after enough rounds.
