Took the girl shooting today

My g/f is finally getting really interested in shooting, so I decided to take her to the range with me today.

She usually goes with me shooting rifles, etc and does really good.

Today we were shooting from 10 yards. She keeps shooting a few inches low.

What can I tell her to help her fix that. I'm not a great teacher and it just comes "natural" to me to shoot.

Appreciate any advice, its nice having something really fun in common so I would like to keep her into it and get her own XD

BTW, shooting an xd sc 9mm.

TIA.

-Andrew

I'd imagine she's flenching. Go get some snap caps and work on trigger control at home.

Shooting skeet also helps with flinch, as a shotty will kick more than your XD, and you tend not to flinch when "actively" engaged.

Dryfiring should help, and can't hurt.

If she's new and shooting a group a few inches low...compliment her!

If it's a relatively tight group, she isn't doing anything wrong. Change the point of aim or the sights.

Na that's just natural for women to shoot low. Makes men think twice about messing with a woman and her gun.

Go to springer precision, and look at their link to an article on grip, and then watch the video on gripping a XD. (http://www.springerprecision.com/video.asp )

I'm horribly inaccurate, and after reading, watching these and dry firing a bunch, I went to the range. It took some time, but I found the one that realy imporved my accuracy (the thumbs off version).

Enjoying my XD .45ACP Tactical. need to break in my 870, and my wife's XDSC9.

I carry my XD45 ACP Tactical, in a SuperTuck from CB. Very comfortable, easy to hide, easy to draw, and easy to reholster.

Looking for an HDR*, either an AR-180B, or Kel-Tec FBR.

HDR, Homeland Defense Rifle
