Third trip to the range...
Low thirties, mild wind. Few flakes of snow mixed in with sleet.
A great way to tell you'll have the range to yourself. At least, until you count my usual shooting buddy and my ex-gf. I can honestly say that, even after waiting more than a week and a half to clean it after the last time I went out (yeah, I know... I know...), I had absolutely ZERO problems with my .40 4". The only real issue the whole day was that my ex didn't like the recoil on it, since she has weak hands, and used to have terrible tendinitis in her wrists. Other than that, cold, wet conditions were not a problem at all for this beautiful piece of machinery. In fact, I plan to head over to the Brandywine Recreation Area sometime tomorrow and try again. |

AbNo - Thanks for the range report. You must be a true XD fan to go out in conditions like that...I know I have too. By the way, your wife might want to consider some hand exercises to help with wrist problems. Grip Master makes a good product for shooters and athletes.

Wife? No no, ex-girlfriend. Pardon me for not clarifying.
And as an amusing note, there was an old Gateway computer someone had left out there. Suprisingly, a hard drive WILL stop a bullet. At least, if you hit it in the side of the platters. Still need to practice my aim, though. I keep ending up low or sometimes to the right (shooting lefty), and my buddy hits low and/or to the left (shooting right). Any thoughts on that? The targets I'd printed out (posted elsewhere around here) listed "Thumbing", I'm guessing that's pressing the frame with your thumb? |
