2 Fte . . . ?!?!?!?!

I went out to the range the other evening to shoot my XD9 and my Ruger 10/22. I had just cleaned my XD9 and was looking forward to get another successful range trip. My pistol has alittle over 1,000 rounds through it so I consider it broken in. I'd say I went through almost 100 rounds and BAM a FTE...I could not believe what I saw. This was has been the first jam I have EVER had with my XD. I just disregarded it and cleared the jam. Well not 50 rounds later it does the same thing FTE. I inspected the exstractor claw and everything looks fine. Do y'all have any suggestions?!?!?!?! ... ... I was shooting WWB 115gr. FMJ.

I've never had any trouble with the WWB ammo. I did do a side by side look with Remington and it appeared to me the notch was different.

Make sure the claw is nice an clean. I spent about 1.5 hours cleaning my XD40 yesterday. Flushed a lot of metal bits out of the firing pin/indicator area/channel/whatever you call it. As an aside I bought a bore scope from Walgreens for $5. Of course they didn't call it that - included a magnetic base and a laser pointer.

Easy response is try some different ammo.

seems after about 1k rounds, the XD extractor tension loosens a tad. making in particular WWB a pain to extract. The lip on WWB is more shallow than other brands, also making it more difficult to extract. try American eagle or blazer, and I'm sure the problem will go away.

is there a way for us common folk to tighten the extractor tension or is that a "liability issue" that s.a. wants us to send in for service?

if your skilled then go for it, i personally would send it back to have the extractor re-tuned.

Thanks for all the feedback. I have shot blazer before and gotten tigher groups. It's just alittle more pricey.
