WWB 124 grain
Well,
Another range trip with my 4" XD and one box of .40 wwb yields an FTE, with the 4" XD. Eventually, that lead to a field strip and a spring switch removing the troublesome 22#~ and replacing it with a lighter spring which contributed to no more FTEs-- I notified the gunsmiths at my local range by calling them and giving them the numbers and specs of the supposed faulty ammunition and spring/gun combination. They eat up info like this and love telling their own gun social circles notfifying others of companies and products which may produce harmful results on the job for any leo or ccw with the right combination of events. |

And, XDs don't come stock with 22# springs. If that is what was in it, it's not a part the gun was designed to use, so it's not a particular surprise it won't operate properly. Not a gun malfunction, but an owner inspired one.
