New Member shoots new XD40
Took my XD40 out yesterday afternoon and put 50 rounds through it. I had one round in the first 10 that didn't let the slide go fully into battery, but after that it was flawless. It's going to take some time to get used to the trigger. I find that at 7 yards I can rip up the target in rapid fire, but I tried some deliberate shooting at 15 yards from the Weaver stance and it wasn't anything to write home about. May have to go for a lighter trigger spring - what do u think?

rman, I don't think a lighter trigger spring is going to do it. There is more involved. I grew up shooting a 1911 and although I had nothing against the XD trigger, I just wanted it closer to the 1911 feel. I polished and played with mine for about 2 years before sending it to Rich at Canyon Creek. He adjusted the trigger pull, pre-travel and return and installed my TruGlow TFO sights. The trigger job alone made a big difference in my accuracy. Save yourself some time and send it to Rich or Springfield. I cant speak for SA's work, but I'm sure it's very good. I do know that Rich is less expensive, does a great job and is usually a lot quicker. From one of your other posts, I believe you are not new to pistols, just XD's. Have you experimented with some other shooting positions? I know you shoot best with what you're comfortable with, so it's just a suggestion.
