Brand New XD .45 ACP 4" Service - First Report
Picked up my new XD45 Service today from a great local shop (instant check was down when I bought it - go figure). Of course, went straight to the range and put 50 through it. Clean / inspect / oil later tonight.
Anyway, hard to say too much after just 50 rounds except WOOO HOOO!! Set up the B-27 at 25 yards, 230-gr FMJ, no malfunctions of any sort, offhand groups 4 inches at best, definitely zeroed in for a 6 o'clock hold (2" rise at 25yd). OK, so the gun's much better than I am... by 'cheating' and resting my arms on the table I got about 2 inch groups. I have a little work to do in that department. Had a little more recoil than I expected, muzzle jump 3 or 4 inches. I used to have a Glock 23 (.40) so I'm used to a little kick but it still surprised me. Of course until now my carry gun's been a little Colt .380 so I've been spoiled with the little peashooter. The XD fit my smallish hands well, pointed naturally, shot smoothly... no complaints. But then you weren't expecting any, were you?? |

Congrats on your new XD. My next one will be in .45acp but Im thinking I'll go with the Tactical for a little extra weight on the front.

Yeah i was thinkin the same thing. Message me if u have any ideas to reduce the recoil on the XD-9. I think i will go with the 45 now cuz i have talked to a few folks and they have all told me to go with the XD-45!
