SpringField says trigger slap is normal...
***Also posted in the General forum for greater visibility***
I've been to the range several times lately. This gun shots great. But I am still walking away with my finger sore and one time I had a visible blister. So today I decided to call SA. Talked to a lady who assured me trigger slap was normal and advised me to buy a shooting glove or wait for a callus to form. That is exactly what she told me. I just laughed, thanked her for her time and hung up. What gives? What should I do now? I've heard great things about SA customer service, but how stupid does this lady think I am? Who here has actually sent their XD back to SA with this problem? And did they fix it? Thanks, Chad |

So I'm not the only one with a blister?
I've taken to wearing a band aid on my finger. I kept blood-blistering my trigger finger and would shoot again before it healed. It got pretty ugly for a while. The callous is forming nicely, but it's really annoying. Of course, I was shooting a lot (200 - 600 rounds a week) so my wife told me I should slow down. I just figured I needed to shoot more to build the finger up. |

You guys shooting the 357 SIG or the 40?
I went from the 357 SIG to the 45 ACP and the 45 shoots so much better that this problem is gone and shooting is a 100% more enjoyable and I am much more accurate. Regards |

Try shooting a CZ100. That trigger slap will bruise your finger in 10 rounds it is so hard. I just bought the XD40 Tatical at a gun show this past weekend and loved the way it shot. My friend who owns a Glock 22 with 3# trigger job said he even thought the XD nicer on the finger.

I have never gotten a blister shooting, Garand thumb
Maybe it has something to do with career fields. |
