Awesome Day with a great new 40sw load

It's been a while since I took my XD40 Service to the range but I have recently worked up a bunch of reloads for it and thought I would take it out today and give them a try.

I used all winchester components, 5.9 grains of Win 231 powder, 155 grain Win jacketed hollow point bullets, Win small pistol primers, various brass cases that I cleaned in my tumbler before loading.

These loads were awesome, I figure I'm getting a MV of around 1050-1075 fps and with the Dons guide rod and 22# wolff spring the recoil seemed like a heavy 9mm.

I had zero FTFs or FTEs, I shot two clips just to get the feel of the gun back and test out my new reloads. The third clip I took time to aim and go for shot placement. I fire 10 rounds at 10 yards and the entire group was 1".

I couldn't be happier and highly recommend this load to anyone who rolls there own...

I bought a XD 40 a few weeks ago and am still working loads up for it. I,m kinda picky and have been testing them out at 15 yds. I haven't been able to out shoot my G22 yet (2"@ 15 45 feet). So far I've tried IMR (sr4756) and Unique I like the trigger and the reliability so far BUT haven't come up up with a sweet load yet. I like 2"-3" at 15 yards. (Then I know the gun is more accurate than i am0. Next I would like to try Win powders WSF, Win 231. -- how about #2 & #5 also Tightgroup. Man I got a lot of shooting ahead of me. kEEP KILLIN THEM TARGETS
