1st time shooter, 300 rounds, and a whole lot of happy.
I went out to the range yesterday and shot a gun for the first time ever. I just bought myself an XD-40 Service Model and I loved it. I shot 300 rounds, only because I ran out, and didn't have a single problem... other than the accuracy of course. I did a lot of research before I bought my gun and am very happy with the outcome. I'm going out again toomorrow with about 500 rounds and I hope to have the same luck. Thanks for all of your help with info.

Sounds like me.
After 2 months, if my experience is any indication, you'll do a wallet check, give it a 'holy s...' Then you'll try to figure out how you can get by on a couple fewer meals/week to finance your habit without upsetting the household too much.. Lunch is overrated. Been trying to drop 5 or 10 lbs anyway. |

I just bought my first gun as well (yesterday) -- an XD-9 SC. It's in limbo right now -- the 10 day holding period we have here in MD. UHG. I am going nuts, especially now that I've found this forum and see what a crazy addiction this is going to turn into.
I have to say, the guy Mike at Bart's Sporting World in Glen Burnie, MD who turned me onto this gun really knew what he was talking about. I went in looking for a Baretta, maybe a SIG (hadn't even been researching the XD), and he went over a lot of reasons why the XD was probably a better bet for me. I'm _so_ glad he enlightened me. heehee! In retrospect, if he had just said "You know, the high-end pistol you get toward the end of Resident Evil 4 is this gun," I probably would have slapped down my credit card a lot faster. |
