Range report: first shots xd40 service v-10 model

As promised I took the wife to shoot today and I am impressed with this pistol, her never firing a gun in her life, she put the first 3 rounds in a sillouette target in the 10 circle just ouside the bullseye!! Never shot before in her life!!! The porting and recoil sort of freaked her out but I told her she did great. I think it is a bit too much for a first timer and will work her up by using smaller caliber handguns until she is comfy. However when Daddy took over i shot at 15yds and had some rounds 3 in one group and 2 in another enter almost on top of each other!! The other rounds you could cover with 3 fingers from one group to another. At 25 yards I had shots no more than 2 fingers apart and some right next to each other at POA. Not one ftf or fte, but only had time to run 60 rounds thru it due to time constraints ( got hungry) So far so good. Only thing I did not like was the front sight got pretty smudged up from the porting and was hard to see... maybe a unported barrel is near.

I always bring a towel to wipe down my front sight. Other than that, I love my V-10.
