XD-45 ACP accuracy

This pistol shoots really well. If I can figure out how to do it, I will show my latest targets. The first one shows the first 10 rounds offhand slow fire at 25 feet, then I I started "front sight on target squeeze trigger" for the remaining 40 rds. The second photo shows all 50 rds.

Ok, now to see if it worked...

I was back at the range last night with the XD. It is flawless and was drawing a lot of attention from the other shooters there. The dealer is selling them as soon as they hit the shelves. I think this pistol is a true winner, and is probably a nail in the coffin of the .45 GAP. After all, why go GAP with the XD sitting there with a similar sized and more ergonomic grip?

The bad news is I keep thinking "What could a Tactical do?" I see a hole in my bank account!

(BTW, I bought the first GAPS that came in to my dealer, and they are nice. BUT...)

Hawkman- Holy crap thats good shooting. Im taking mine out tomarrow for the first time, I just got her tuesday. I was thinking the whole time that had to be a tactical, but WOW was I pleasently surprised! What ammo are you using? and carrying? I only worry about the effectiveness of the 4" vs 5" barrel, but I'm probably overly paranoid.

Mostly I practice with Wolf 230 gr. That was what I was using the day I shot those targets. Carry ammo is golden saber 230, it shoots at least as well.

Just got back from the range, wow, my groups were decent, but not anywhere near as nice as yours. I'll have to get used to this pistol as ive had a glock for the past four years in .40cal that Im alot better with than my new pistol. I did, however, like the fit and feel while shooting the pistol better, seems to have slightly slower sight accusation for me than my G22 .40cal, but that'll soon change. Also taking five pistols to the range is a mistake when trying to get your bearings on a new one, ha.

Lucky you - I am sitting here doing - ugh - taxes.

If you are a Glock guy the XD trigger does take getting used to, and the sight picture is a bit different.

The secret to my groups is that I decided one day a couple of years ago that I was going to seriously learn how to shoot well, and went at it. I average about 500 rounds per week minimum and just concentrate on shutting out everything except the sight picture. If I can hold that front sight on target during the trigger squeeze, the hits are there.

Hey man what part of GA are you from? Also, do you have any tips for me to use such as the front site only technique and other things. I dont really have a pull problem, I do, however, have a slight flinch problem that I seem to have aquired from my .357 for some reason. I'm doing dry fire drills and the flinch isnt always there, just for the first couple of mags until I get "in the zone" then its good to go.

It was kinda funny, after shooting the xd45 for about 200rds I went back to the glock to compair and I keep shooting double taps! I had about four quick accidental double taps, kinda weird, never done that before. Was neat though, I was using a large siloette and one would be in the center and the double tap would be in the neck/head area, wouldnt that be nice to do consitantly? Haha

Thanks
Chuck
