Crimson Trace laser grips
I recently installed this laser grip on my XDSC and I have been to the range twice since then. My question to those of you that have installed these is how long did it take you to adjust to them ? I am not talking about the increased grip width but shot placement with the laser dot. I am thinking of getting a laser bore sight and checking to make sure that the laser is sighted in properly.

Have you adjusted the laser for the distance you're practicing at?

No I have not done that yet. When I purchased the laser grips I was told that they were sighted in at the factory for 15 to 17 yards. The two times that I have tried them at the range I was shooting at a target placed at 15 yards. I had my XD 40 service with me and fired a few rounds with that to check my groupings and they were alot tighter. I guess I just wanted to know what anyone else experience was .

sighting in ctc
have had ctc on my 45 tac for about 2 years. take the time to carefully follow the manuel instructions on adjusting the lazer, I used a rest and a quarter sized target sticker. I did this at 15 yards. Hold the red dot on the sticker and squeeze off a couple of rounds. adjust from there. My poa is about 1/2 inch from the red dot. remember the farther out or closer in you shoot, there will be a greater difference. can hit a 6" target at 27 yards, not bad.

I think you just need to adjust the laser and you'll see your groups tighten up a bit.
I find that I get more use of the laser when dry firing then when at the range, and sometimes I never use it at the range. I don't want to depend on the laser alone. I got it mostly for low-light conditions and for the wife to use. She's much more confident with the laser.

I have used a laser bore sighter to adjust the ctc grips and it is a quick and easy way to make the needed alignment. If you want to double check real quick you can always see where it lines up with the old iron sights as well. That way isn't as quick but it can get you there.

I just purchased a laser cartridge bore tool from Cabela's and the CTC laser is not set correctly from the factory. I will adjust it and let you know what the difference is. Thanks for the suggestions and help.
