New XDSC 9mm
New (13-round magazine) bi-tone XD sub-compact 9mm.
I've been using a XD9 service (4") for a couple of years now and finally got around to finding and picking up the XDSC after getting rid of a S&W 642 snubbie. I know, I know, I should have gone with the XDSC in the first place (you sound just like my wife) Initially took the thing apart to check the barrel for obstuctions. There were none and it was off to the range. No cleaning, no extra lube, just straight from the factory. 110 rounds of Winchester White Box, not a single problem. This gun is a shooter! The first ten rounds out of the thing went exactly where I wanted them to. I was expecting really good things from it, but this exceeded my expectations. Of course, the other 105 rounds too went where I wanted them to with the exception of three or four flyers during more rapid strings of fire. And by "flyers" I mean on target, just not near the other impacts. Interestingly enough, a buddy of mine had his right-out-of-the-box H&K P30L (full sized service 9mm) and was also using WWB. First shot, Failure-To-Extract (FTE). Second shot after clearing the FTE, double-feed. I cleared that for him and I shot the next three with no issues. Gave it back to him and FTE after FTE and a couple of double feeds thrown in for fun. If nothing else he got good at malfunction drills. He was able to get some +P carry ammo to cycle fine, but WWB and a couple other self-defense brands did not work well for him. It's great to be an XD owner! I don't yet have a Pierce grip extension for the short mag, but didn't find it difficult to control even with my pinkie hanging off the end of the grip. I will get the grip extension for the added safety it provides for my pinkie. The 16-round magazine didn't pinch at all and did slightly improve the recoil characteristics of the gun. I was able to make swiss cheese of a 9" paper plate at 50-feet. I wasn't grouping anything at that distance, but kept it on target nonetheless. I feel greatly confident with this little wonder. Highly recommended!

This is my next gun purchase, so I like reading all the good reviews people are posting on it.

I am one of the oddballs where I cant decide about the grip extension or not. I never had an issue without it. The way my pinky curled under was very natural for me. I have 2 new 13 rounders coming and I think I will leave them as is and just keep the current 13 rounder with the extension. The SC kind of defies short barrel logic..... |

I used to hate all the threads that talked about the XD9 sc and how great they are and how wonderful they are to shoot, you guys are so happy. Humph. Well I got mine Saturday shot it today and YES! It is as nice as everyone says it is. At close range 1" groups(kinda), at 20 yds 5" groups. It definitly has more kick than my XDm 9, which makes me appreciate the XDm even more, but man oh wow I love it. I can't belive I had reservations about buying it (should I or shouldn't I thread).
The pearce is a must (plus it makes it look cool as heal too). The 16r mag seemed to help the recoil but the spacing pinched my finger a bit ( nothing that will stop me from using it). I shot better the faster I shot. When I took my time some of my shots went... ? I have to hold it a little tighter than the XDm (expected duh sc). I bought the all black and have already filled the lettering white (looks awsome) and it only took a few minutes. texasKA, coachrose go get one! Save your pennies and when the time comes BUY IT! Do not hesitate you will love it! Congrats ManDohack! Great report.

I'm fairly certain I'll own a new XDSC 9mm in bi-tone later today. Even my wife, who doesn't like guns, thinks it looks sweet! Of course, great looks aren't the reason we buy most guns, but it doesn't hurt either. |
