Just returned from the range.. pumped 103 rounds down range through my XD SC 9mm. I have just received 3 new 13 round mags and wanted to be sure I could trust them, before I used them for carry. They worked great it was a little bit hard to get the last two or three rounds in the mag though, the springs are tight. This is something I first nopticed when I oped the box and was checking out the followers with my finger that they were tighter than my other mags.
I have the standard XD gear 10 round and 16 round with grip extention. I also ordered another 16 rounder. So I have 2- 16 rounders and a 10. I could never get the 16 to drop free of the gun because the side of the grip extention would get stuck/ rub up against the inside of my hand. I would have to use my support hand to grab the mag and pull it out. So today I just removed the grip extentions and now the mags drops free. I ordered 3 thirteen rnd mags to replace my 10 and my 2- 16
s. I figured that 3- 13 rounds were close enough to one 10 and 2- 16's that I carry daily to have about the same amount of ammo. I was going to sell the 16's but now that I have that issue solved I think I'll keep them. I really don't have a use for the 10 rounder though, maybe some one in California might.
I ordered 3 pierce finger floor plates yesterday so I can't wait for them to come in. then I'll be set.
I've got this 20 round promag I bought at Academy a few months ago, I decided to shoot it today also and it worked great, so I think I'll keep the 20 and the 2 16 in the truck and carry the 13 rounders for a more concealed look.

i just took the mrs to the range to try out a few options for her very first pistol purchase, after trying compact 1911's, the ruger sr9, a ruger .40 cal, and a few others, she fell in love with the xd9sc. So that's what we are gonna get next!!!

I bought an XD-9 Service about 2 years ago, and bought the kit with 3 extra mags, 2-mag belt holster, etc. shortly after. I'm thinking about carrying those extra mags with my new XD9SC instead of the supplied extention mag or a couple SC mags I may buy soon.

I like that the normal mags are easier to drop in an emergency reloading situation, plus they'd be less bulky in a mag holster than the extention mags - but would hold just as much ammo should I ever need it.

I'm going to hold off the on Pierce mag plate/pinky extentions for now tho. I'm finding that I can shoot the gun pretty well with my pinky tucked under the SC mag's bottom plate.
