Run about 200 round, spend about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. like you i have seen a few come in blast out 100 rounds and leave with in 30 minutes made me wonder why, and when eyeing their target groups 10" hole a 10 yards. i would not want them for a backup

It's expensive to shoot more than a box or two (50 rds, .40 s&w). $22-$25 for ammo, $8-$14 for range time, $1 for eye protection, $1 for ear protection, $1 for target + tax. Cheapest I ever gotten out was 1 box of reloads, eye/ear, target, and discounted range time (I think the girl was sweet on me or my gun because she gave me the LEO/military discount and I'm neither) for $24 dollars. Yesterday it was $64 + tax.

im spoiled local range 25 bucks a year with trap and skeet and a 25 50 and 100yrd range really small and hardly any1 there so i can do whatever but paper targets only. got a combo to the lock and go whenever.. usually spend 2 hrs to go through 100-200 9mm and 50-100 or so .45. i know smoking bad 4 u but the empty packs filled with dirt make great plinking targets put on top of the backstop and are made of paper, only can take a hit or three b4 they wont hold dirt anymore though but with all my family being smokers i got plenty of targets

I belong to a private range (about $125/year) and I try to go once a week. It's open 24/7 so I can go anytime. I'll spend about 2 hours there unless I also shoot outdoors, in which case I'll spend about 3 to 3 1/2 total. Probably shoot at least 200 rounds total in 2-3 calibers. I reload so I just shoot as much as I want. I like to forget how much I spend in reloading components and think of my reloaded ammo as "free".

If I'm going to the indoor range I'll usually spend a 1/2 hour and 50 rounds. If I'm going outdoors 2-3 hours 100-150 rounds of .40 and 200-300 rounds of .22lr between the pistols and rifles. I'd like to go several times a week if time and money permitted, but realistically I get to one or the other about twice a month.

spent a little over an hour at the indoor range last night. spent about 150 rounds. that was new to me, I use to take upwards of 300 rounds. I finally realized I will get more out of my practice if I take my time and not shoot as much so quickly. Plus, it helps me save money! If I take only x amount of rounds and no more, I won't be tempted to shoot more just to have fun. I get through my practice, and get outta there before I spend all my money!!

I used to go much more often and shoot more rounds, but I had a very busy year - and ammo got pricier and harder to find.

These days I try to go once a month and spend an hour there. I shoot 100-200 total rounds in that time, usually with 2-3 different pistols but always with my carry gun no matter what else I do, practicing two-hand strong and off-hand, and one-hand strong and off-hand.

If I'm at the outdoor range, I also practice shooting from kneeling and cover positions - and even run around for a minute or two then shoot, simulating adrenaline rush, trying to control my breathing and keep my hands steady.

100 rounds, 2x per week. I take as long as it takes to sharpen a particular skill since I've been away from shooting for 5 years or so. I'm a member of the club, so no range fees.

'cause they don't make a .46.
