First range trip with new XDM-9

First time ever firing my new xdm-9. I am relatively new to guns, first time I have ever fired a handgun was 2 weeks prior to this purchase!! All in all, I am pretty happy with my initial results, although very well aware improvement is needed!!

I found the xdm-9 to be very easy to shoot, and accurate right out of the box. Even as I became tired at the end, and my groupings were drifting low and to the left, I was still able to hit the silouhette(except for the headshots!).

The headshots are at 10 yards, all the bodyshots are at 15 yards.
Put 1 mag (19+1) through the head, and 3 mags (19+1) cm. 80 rounds total!

follow up range trip

this was around 10 days later, not as many rounds, but i feel like i am getting better. i am no longer drifting low and to the left. i changed my grip, stance, and now take a break after every 5 shots, that seems to help. i also changed the backstrap to the smallest one, felt much more comfortable then before. my groupings are tighter, but still need a lot of practice.

the headshots are again at 10 yards

the body shots that are still taped are at 15 yrds

the body shots circled in white are at 20 yards.

Getting better, huh? Keep up the practice........that is what it takes. Shooting skills will atrophy if you don't practice. I went 5 years without shooting at all and it took a few hundred rounds to get things back to where they were!

Alright! Went out for my 3rd range trip with my new xdm-9. boy i tell ya, the more I shoot this gun, the more I love it. I focused on my grip this time, took my time, and definately feel I am improving, although marginally better, it is still an improvement. I cannot wait to go out again.

The headshots are again at 10 yards, better grouping this time.
the body shots are all at 15 yards. the holes that are untaped were the last 20 rounds, it was my best grouping of the day at that distance.

20 rounds to the head, and 60 to the chest, all hit, none missed, and this time alot more double holes than ever before!

Here's my last range trip. Now DeadEye-Want2B , you gotta admit, I am improving. I know I still need a lot of practice, then more practice, and maybe even more practice after that!! But still, I feel like I am more capable of putting the round where I want it to be!

The first pic below is the first 100 rounds or so. I was still drifting low and left, but the groupings were tighter.

I accidentally dry fired after the last round in the mag, and realized I was jerking the pistol down when pulling the trigger. So this last 40 rounds or so below on a new target, I really took my time focusing on squeezing the trigger.

Nice work. I think we can all agree any attacker would be dead or wishing he was.
