100 rds. thru the NEW XD-45 ACP!
Finally picked up my new XD-45 today. Couldn't resist a quick run by the range. Right out of the box, 100 rounds downrange, not a hiccup, and just as accurate as my XD-40sc, but with maybe even a little better recoil. Brought her home and carressed her with some Slide-Glide. This is the gun fellas. Wooo-Hooooo!

Nice. LOL. They're so reliable, it's boring! jk =) I just shot 110 rounds through my new XD9 and it worked flawlessly as well.

Well...almost...
You're right. It is almost boring if you're looking for a failure of any kind. It just doesn't happen with the XD's! Yay!

XD-45ACP Still going strong...
200 more rounds at the range today. 400 rounds to date and still going strong. Smooth as butter, almost no recoil to this thing even with the big .45! 3" groups at 25' for me-a rookie! I'm gonna use this gun at my first IDPA shoot tomorrow if the rain holds off. Will post the results if they're not too embarrassing...lol.

1200rds of +p through my XD-45acp
I have been shooting the XD-45acp for a little over 2 months.
After putting 1200+rds of 230gr+p ball I have had no problems at all. I traded in my G21 for this XD and have been shooting it at NRA action pistol matches. My scores have improved by an average of 100pts per event since I switched to the XD. This pistol rocks!!!

How is the new 45acp in size comparison to the 40? Is the grip that much bigger? I never got a Glock 45 because the grip felt to large in my hands. If the XD is smaller, I will get one.

not a lot
Smoke, I don't know abou the Glocks, but there is very little difference in the XD .40 & .45 as far as the way the grip feels. I have both the XD-40SC & the XD-45ACP and I just laid them side by side, and gripped both, back and forth to compare. Not a very scientific test, understand I didn't measure or anything. But, if you have the Sub compact in the .40 like me, and use the mag with sleeve, the height of the grip is also almost identical to the .45. The length of the 45 of course is longer since the .45 is a 4-inch bbl. But, other than that they're about the same. As far as comparing the way the two shoot, the .40 is snappier, where as the .45 is butter. A push with the .45 rather than the slight snap & flip of the .40. But, recoil is not enough to bother me even with the .40. I love them both and to me they feel almost the same when gripped. Both of mine were accurate right out of the box. I have done nothing extra to them as far as trigger jobs, etc. I ordered a Fobus paddle holster OWB, and they both fit it perfectly. I would highly recommend the 45ACP! If you get it you won't be sorry!

I own a Glock model 22 in .40cal, and a freind of mine has the Glock model 21 in .45acp. The grip difference between them is night and day, the .45 is so much larger, I can hardly get my hand around it. My new XD45 feels better than BOTH of them. The grip feels more "round" than long and fits right in my hand. Its the best feeling double stack 45 Ive ever held or even heard of, honestly, its that good. Which is why I bought one the day I saw it.. I gotta quit doing that...
