First rounds through new XD9 Service and........
THIS PISTOL ROCKS!!!!!!!
Rather casual shooting setting. Just pop cans on my buddy's property. Ran through 100 rounds of 115gr Winny white and 30 rnds of 124gr Hydrashocks. Not one hick-up. Shot between 7 -25 yards. Once I got the sight picture figured out I was consistently nailing everything. Can't tell you groups, but many holes where touching on the cans. So, needless to say I am seriously stoked and impressed. For shooting this well right off of the bat it won't be to long before the XD is an extension of me. I have a lot of seat time with revolvers but limited with time semi-autos. I am very pleased with how this pistol handles. I would recommend it to anyone. On a side note. I had concerns about long range accuracy with a 4" barrel vs a 5 inch barrel. My friend convinced me that a 4" will be just fine, even more so for CCW. Well, he put out a couple 2 liter pop bottles filled with water at 75 yards and consistently hit them with his xd9 service. I am sold. Ben |

Congrats! You'll love the XD-9. Just a note I have over 3K rounds in mine without one hint of failure.
Don't worry too much about long range accuracy. Some of our local XD shooters have the subcompact model. They are doin' just fine. |
