Well, it was all me. Took my time to be consistent and focus on the trigger pull, i'll be danged if I didn't get 13 rds out of the 15 rd mag on the paper at 10-15 paces. Just doing dry firing, I was noticing that when I had the pad of my finger on the trigger and went through the pull, the gun was pulling to the left. If I pulled the trigger with the joint of my finger, the gun stayed straight. So I tried that on the target and I was a lot more consistent. I think these sub-compacts are a lot more stubborn to work with than a full length pistol. I shoot a lot better with my Ruger Blackhawk. Finally got some good ammo to work with for the XD, the Blackhawk, and the Uberti Schofield. That Schofield has been a bear to work with, maybe that one will get better with some more practice as well.
BTW, thanks for the vast amount of quality targets! They are enjoyable to shoot at now that I have a good mount system for them (plywood and HD staples). |

Sweet! These were just what the CCW instructor at the range I go to was looking for! Especially since somebody used his last right-handed one and didn't make any copies first.

First, I proudly proclaim my membership in the "Left Handed Shooters" ranks.
I have been shooting for years and with the last two pistols I purchased, I have developed a sever 1:30 - 2:00 shot grouping. I could not figure out what the problem is. The first shot is dead on (or pretty close), everything after that is in a 2" group up 1.5" and to the right about 2". This is the same for 7, 15, and 25 yds. One look at the target tells me what I'm doing wrong. These things are FANTASTIC! KUDOS!!!!!!! - Kyle |

One thing when you use this target: you must know that your sights are on when you shoot from a bench. I've used this target for some time and have always been low and left. No matter what I tried ... low and left.
Yesterday I dragged a table out back and shot from a makeshift bench. I was still low but was shooting way left. I looked at my XD9-SC and my rear sight was quite left of center. Don't know how that happened since I'm the original owner and have never dropped or banged it against anything. I realigned the rear sight until my windage was on from the bench. Offhand I was suddenly shooting right. All this time I've been fighting a low-left problem when in reality my problem was right. I got a much firmer grip on the gun and windage came to center. I've got an "H" rear sight coming from SA that should let me hold at 6 o'clock. Now I'll need to break the habit of aiming high-right to hit the bull. I've had this pistol for two years. You'd think I would have figured all this out long ago, but sometimes we get our minds set on a problem and go wandering down the wrong road. |

I had thought of that, but I put my groups pretty consistantly in the same spot with my S&W 4006, my XDM, and my 1911. El Cheapo (hipoint) 9mm is spot on. Acording to the target, I'm anticipating the recoil which makes sense why I don't have the problem with the 9mm.
