Don's guide rod
While waiting for them to get back in stock, which spring tension should I get? The kit lists from 18-22#. I would like the slide to move easier when checking for a chambered round or back to lock back. Currently my XD has been through over a thousand rounds and shows no signs of ever loosening up. Will this inexpensive upgrade be worth it?

I've got a service .40. I use factory Winchester 165 and 180 gr for IDPA and 180 gr reloads with the same powder charge for the range. Maybe I'm just weak, but I have a dickens of a time with the slide. I would like it to be a little smoother for the IDPA shoots mainly, I can handle any range stuff.

I've shot 16# spring with 180gr reloads, 4.0 gr titegroup, they are pretty mild loads. It is a bit lighter spring and works great for shooting steel but after about 1000 rounds you start having trouble with the gun not going into battery.

EFK spring
While researching more info I came across a "dual action" frame saver spring from EFK Fire Dragon. It sells for $65 and claims to cut down on muzzle jump. Has anyone tried that one instead of a Don's?
