Are there any magazines for the xd 40 service that hold more then 12? or is there anyway to make them hold more then 12? i know that the 9mm can hold 16 so youd think maybe you could squeese another round or two in. Maybe im mistaken any help would be appreciated.

Pearce makes an extension but it only adds 1 round in 40S&W, there are some 20something round mags for the 9mm that can be made to work for the 40. Pistol Gear has the Pearce extensions, don't know where to get the other mags.

I can fit 13 in both my factory mags, but they are almost impossible to insert without the slide locked open.

When I am at the range I load 13 in the first mag, 12 in the second. That way 2 reloads is exactly 50. Occasionally that first round fails to feed though, so I wouldn't load them past 12 if I was depending on them.

Pearce extension

Anyone used those Pearce +1/2 extensions? Do they use the factory spring? Are they reliable? How do you get the spring out of the extended floorplate?

If you jam the +1 it will break your extractor

Some where has 22 round big stick 40 and I think pro mag has 30 round 9mm

See Promag's mags for XD. I don't remember the exact number, but it's over 16. Never seen anyone carry it, so you'll have to order from Promag.
