Lefty looking for some holster advice
Hey guys, I'm new to the forums. I just got a xd9 and first thing is looking for is a good holster.... for a lefty. I see alot of holster threads but looking around it looks like there is only a select few for leftys out there. I probably am idealy looking to get two. One for concealed carry and the other one just a good holster for when I am plinking around. If anyone could point in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Raven Concealment Systems Ghost Holster
Raven Concealment Systems Phantom Holster for XD9SC (review with intensive pics) Both of these come in either left or right hand. I love them, I carry lefty now, and I've found both to be great concealment and range holsters. |

If your XD came with the XD gear (right handed holsters) you can call Springfield and tell them you are a lefty and they will send you a left handed XD gear paddle holster for free.

I am a lefty. My choices and all are available in LH XD models:
Comp-tac MTAC Comp-tac Spartan Comp-tac CTAC AKJ Concealco (a real sleeper but a great holster) Crossbreed SuperTuck (Expensive and long wait but excellent quality and comfort) Tucker Answer or Texas Heritage, ditto for the Milt Sparks Versa Max II All above are IWB's.

Thanks so far guys, I think I have decided on the crossbreed for concealed carry. I just need to make my final decision on a normal holster. As to the comment about springfield sending me a "XD Gear" lefty holster, from what I hear they are kind of junky aren't they? I haven't even messed with mine since its for the wrong hand.

Lefty Holster
I am left handed. I have several holsters from Com-Tac, Don Hume and Crossbreed.
Comp-Tac - CTAC IWB also Two paddle holsters. Crossbreed Super Tuck. Don Hume - Pancake open top. The CTAC and the Crossbreed are really outstanding IWB holsters. Both companies are very good to work with for service and fixing any problems. The Hume is a good Pancake holster that keeps the pistol close. I carry IWB most of the time, so I don't use the Pancake very often. The paddles are range holsters and during the last year I prefer the IWB holsters over the paddle holsters at the range. Its seems to be a changing preference. -- Richard
