Christmas in July! (Midway RB, Uplula, Serpa)

The big brown truck of happiness showed up at 5:16pm tonite with my Midway order--the Uplula magazine loader, Midway range bag, and Blackhawk Serpa holster.

I'm going to do a more detailed review of the bag and the holster (with detailed pics), but here's a quick take on each one:

Uplula loader: A five-star item, as everyone has said. The limiting factor is in how quickly you can pick up rounds to load them. I loaded a 16-round mag in 27 seconds, on about the fifth try. It took a few times to get the hang of it, but man oh man--this thing is fast.

Midway Range Bag: I've read a number of reviews of this bag, and nobody has come close to describing how good this bag really is. Though they've tried.

I'm going to review this with pictures in a day or two when I get my camera back, because the few pics I've seen simply don't do it justice. The bag itself is top shelf. The zippers are stout, the pockets solid. The double-zippered top has the two zippers tied together with a lace, so opening and closing it is a snap. There's a carry bag inside which is probably a $20 bag in itself, along with what is described as two pistol rugs (they're padded zippered bags of terrific quality each of which will hold a pistol) and a heavy-duty drawstring used brass bag.

This bag is even better than everyone has said it is. Maybe words just fail us.

I'm thinking of getting a second one. I have no current use for it, but even if it sat on a shelf for 3 years waiting for a use, it'd still be worth the ridiculously low price of $39. Anyone who wants to buy a great present for a shooter should consider this bag.

Blackhawk Serpa Holster. The review I want to do will use pics to show some of the things I had questions about (again, when my camera is back), including how you adjust the holster for cant and position, how you adjust to belt width, and how the holster can be switched between belt loop and paddle methods. The paddle is tremendously comfortable, even sitting down. I was amazed. It's everything I was hoping it would be.

I love that big brown truck. In fact, I get so many deliveries each week that the neighbors must think we're having an affair!

The sound of it backing up in my driveway is my favorite thing. Congratulations on your Midway order being delivered. I think the UpLULA was one of the best buys for the money that I have ever gotten.
