New holster from Raven Concelment
The other day I got a brand new holster from Raven Concealment via The Malabar Front. These are the guys who have a bad website, so if that's a measure of quality for you, just pass on by.
It is an appendix carry, called the ACR (appendix carry rig- they aren't really marketeers). Having used a prototype of this rig, I can say the design has had a lot of thought and work put into it. It is nothing breakthrough, but if you like Raven Concealment as I do, it is interesting. Very securely held in place with a good belt, good workmanship, good concealment. I am a fan of this method of carry, especially when spending a day in and out of the car. I carry an XDsc9, so it is very butt heavy and hard to carry like this, but they worked on it till they got it right. No grip-out canting in this baby. Oh, best part to me? It is IWB and tuckable. Longer term report is being worked up and photos to come. Exechobo Last edited by exechobo : 07-15-2008 at 10:51 AM. |

I was very pleased with the RCS Phantom holster I had for XD subcompacts with X2L attached.
Great holsters, decent price, and lifetime guarantee. I think we'll see more and more mention of their name as time goes on. |

Photos are here
Soup, I like my Phantom too. Have one for this gun and my Kimber.
OK, have a few more minutes. After a few days my impressions are that the rig is secure, and the outward cant I had with other appendix rigs and this weapon are solved. I like it for that. It does make itself felt when I squat and wrap my arms around my shins. Not that I do that often, but when crawling around in the trusses of a building I sometimes find it unpleasant. When doing most normal things, including PT drills and running, it is very, very comfortable. Have worn it for a full day since getting it a couple of times, with shorts and a light shirt like in the photos. Will update this after a week or so of use. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Exechobo

Interesting but can not find--?
Was interested in the holster , went to the Malabar site but could not find anything under ACR. None of the RAven Concealment system pictures looked the same. another name possibly?

Too new
The ACR is so new they are just starting production. A call to them is the best way to get acquainted, they leave the website work till last. I got one due to having ordered a prototype version a while back.

Sorry Robdog, I can't really say, mine cost was set up a long time ago while when I bought a prototype version, and they just sent the new one as part of that deal. Great service, and I appreciate it. A call is the best way, and is fun to chat with them, they usually like to spend as much time as they can with you on the phone.

Polsvoice, I REALLY can't say- I honestly don't remember, it was several months ago when they started the project and I was lucky enough to hitch a ride. I seem to recall something in the range of ~$70, but don't quote me on it. When the prototyping was done, they simply sent me the new holster with no additional charge after I bought the proto version. Sorry, a call to Jay at Raven Concealment is the best way to get an actual price.
