Subcompact Mags: Pearce or Xtension?

I'm looking for opinions, reviews and pro's/ con's of getting a subcompact 10 rounder with a Pearce grip extender or a normal 10 rounder with an XD X-tension sleeve.

One advantage I see getting the regular mag over the sub is that I'd be able to use the regular mag later in another XD9 (service/ tactical etc).

What do you all think?

I had the Pearce on mine for awhile, but I have to tell you that I don't think they offered any value at all....I shoot mine w/o them and found no difference in control and accuracy BUT did notice I didn't have it sticking my back. I have large/xl hands....I've handled the Glock 26 and could see how they could help, but not for the XD....it's the perfect gun don't you know.

Pearce Grip Extension: Easier to conceal. Costs less.

XD Gear Extender: Easier to shoot since you'll have more support around the pistol grip. I tend to shoot my XD40sc better with the longer mag than the short one with a PGE.

With the extended mag, you might as well be carrying the full sized XD. I'm really happy with my my XD9SC hides with the Pearce extensions.

I consider it easier to conceal WITHOUT the pearce grip extension, it makes it longer on one side. Shorter is better with me.

I too, agree with another poster, it makes absolutely no difference at the range for me, same with the XD extended mags for the subcompact, they have a better grip comfort, but I shoot just as well with the extended or without them.

Everybody has different hand sizes/shapes, so you will get different opinions on the extensions. I don't shoot my SC without, and don't have any SC mags without the Pearce extension. It makes a world of difference for me!

For my XD-40SC (same size gun):
Warm weather= XD on belt with 10 round mag and Pearce grip with open long shirt. It feels MUCH better to me with the grip and perfect for my size 9's.

Colder weather with jacket= Extended mag with grip sleeve. Same firepower as the full sized XD, so a "3 season" gun if you will.

Hot Summers are a different story of-course.
