I have the PGE and love it. I also carry an extra 12 rd mag with the XD grip extension.

I've only been to the range once since I got my SC, but I have one 10 rd mag without the PGE and one with it. I could not stay at all consistent without it. My hands are pretty big so my pinky and ring finger hang off the bottom of the grip. With it though... it fits perfectly in my hand and still conceals much better then my 40 service.

due to the size of these extensions I could achieve the same grip using the extended 16 round magazine for the subcompact and id have 6 more rounds with the same grip. I can go even futher and say I can just carry the XD9 service instead

I like the Pearce extension for carry, but my spare mag is a full size on with the XD gear sleeve on it. Once you put those XD gear sleeves on a mag though you probably won't be taking it off to use in your full size. Kind of a pain to get them off and on. So I have my XD mags and my XD-SC mags.

how is having a pearce EXTENSION easier to conceal? I'm sure it would add comfort to your hand. i'll have to try both, but then like someone said i might as well have the 16rd mag in there for the extra rounds.

I like my Pearce grip extensions on my XD40SC. Without them it always felt like my pinkie had no place to go but now the extensions are just the right size for my hand. Of course everybody is different but they work well for me.

I have pretty big hands. When I first handled my XD9SC I didn't care for the feel. The next day my Crimson Trace grips arrived and I put those on and felt it was a big improvement, but still didn't feel right. I added a Pearce and it felt just right. I ended up purchasing 4 of them for all my 10 rd mags from the local gun shop...$10 a pop! Just take your gun to the local shop and try one out. They pop on/off easily.

Reg Mag w Pearce for sure

I ordered 2 extra mags from Pistol Gear with the pearces. It works better and has less bulk than the larger mag w sleeve.

Go the pearce route

I carry with one 10 with PG on me and one 10 with PG in my pocket. I do shoot considerably better with 10s and PGs. I can also shoot well with 15s and SA extender but it is more difficult to conceal and more cumbersome to pocket. Plus if I can't get it done with 20 HPs I pissed the wrong people off.

I'd rather have my XD and not need it, then need it and not have it....
