What model Blackhawk (with retention) are you all using for the subcompact?

The large soft leather backing is one of the key elements of the Crossbreed Supertuck. It molds to your body and you don't feel like you tucked in a soda can into your waistband. As many others have posted right here on XDTalk, the Crossbreed Supertuck is the one that did it. Sometimes I get home and start working on the yard or on the car and still have my Supertuck on me.

One thing that's unique about the Supertuck is that you can make it fit you. You don't have to rely on some holster maker to decide what fits you. After a week or month of wearing the Supertuck, if you feel you need to make an adjustment beyond just moving the clips up and down, you can take a razor blade and trim off whatever excess leather backing you need. I did just that and even shortened one of the clips. If you screw it up and cut too much, you're out $60. I can't imagine doing that to a $200 pretty holster that you waited 6 months for and still doesn't fit right.

Before:

Then after wearing it at a few IDPA matches, I decided I needed a clear area around the pistol grip. This is now offered as the Combat Cut option.

After a few more weeks of wearing it, I decided to trim some of the leather backing towards the front. This made sitting in a car a little more comfortable. You may not need to do this depending on how high or low you wear your holster, or how much to the front or back, or even the angle of the holster. Again, this is personalization you can do with the Supertuck that other holsters don't allow.

I use the COMP-TAC MTAC holster for concealed carry. The holster is comfortable and conceals very well. It's also affordable and they have a short turn around time - I had mine less than two weeks after purchase. They also have great customer service and keep you updated on every step of the process.

High Noon Bare Asset...

I use a High Noon Bare Asset Holster for C/C with one of their great belts. I really feels like you are wearing no holster (or weapon, for that matter) at all. I typically carry IWB with an untucked shirt, since I'm usually wearing casual clothes (shorts, T-shirt or untucked button-down, and flip-flops... it is summer after all!). It is very thin yet comfortable and holds the XD-9 Subcompact securely - and High Noon has a 30-day trial period so you can actually use the holster to ensure you like it - if you don't, you can get your money back (no item must be new, blah, blah, blah nonsense like the other holster companies). Check it out for sure.

XD9sc Holsters

I have a CTAC for my XD9sc and it works very well. I recently bought a Crossbreed Super Tuck for a different pistol and think that it would be very comfortable to CCW the XD.

I went to my local shop today and checked out a few Galco holsters, but they seemed to print really bad under my shirt. Any suggestions.

Thanks,

I have a Don Hume Open Top for my XD9 SC. It is really comfy as it is an OWB. I wore it from 4:30 yesterday morning to 5:00pm, while on an all day fly fishing trip. Wore it on my belt under my waders. I fell 3 times. Once onto my left side on a rock (yeah, ouch) and twice in the water (bad day with my walking abilities) and the thing never budged and I really didn't notice it was there at all. Good holster! For IWB i'm ordering a FIST #14 this week.

Good luck in your search.
