Mika's or High Noon Holsters

Has anyone had any dealings with these holster makers. What do you guys think?

I bought a Mika pocket holster last year. He replies to emails promptly and I had my holster in about a week.

Thanks for tweaking my memory.

I ordered a holster for my J-frame back in April and Mr. Mika called the next day and left a voicemail saying that he was getting a lot of orders and the wait could be about 8 weeks. That was OK with me but I've been thinking of calling him to see what's going on.

I've bought 3 from High Noon. They were stock holsters and I received them about 4 days after I placed each order. It's a good (not great) quality holster well worth the price.

My 2 Highnoon Closing Arguments are the best holsters I've ever used. Well worth the money. The bummer is that they are the high-end HN holsters and take months to make.

I own about six or seven high noon holsters. All are either Closing Arguments with clip or Down Unders with clip. I like them all but the Down Under is perfect for me and the way I carry. The only problem is waiting time.

Mika is under a LOT of pressure at the moment. I ordered my holster from him about 2 months ago now and I also sent him a few emails. He has been so busy with his job as police chief and his business making holsters has gotten so involved that he claims to work 16-18 hour days. I had to call to get in touch with him every time I needed to speak with him. Emails went unanswered until recently when I inquired about my holster again. He answered the email in a couple of hours. I had talked to him twice already about making sure my shipping address was updated. I spoke with him Monday and he said he would have my holster out Thursday (2 months and 4 days since order) and thanked me for being patient. However, I got home yesterday and in the mail was a Mika holster. I was surprised and I looked at the postmark. June 20th.... Then I peeled back the address sticker stuck on by the post office, seems he had shipped it weeks ago (June 20th was more like 1 month 3.5 weeks) and that he just shipped it to my old address. Thankfully the post office caught the package due to my change of address and forwarded it to my new home.

The holster itself is nice. Honestly, for a pocket holster, it is rather large. I have an Uncle Mike's pocket holster I had been using while I waited for my Mika holster and my biggest complaint was the square cut of the Uncle Mike's. It seemed to create an unnecessary buldge in your pocket. However, the round cut of Mika's holster was even bulkier because the holster is LARGER overall than the Uncle Mike's. Granted, my uncle Mike's is broken in, and my S&W J Frame is sitting in the Mika's for now to break in. I think time will tell. With all that said, Mika's holster was very sturdy and the draw from the holster is very nice.

I had been hearing that Mika is way out in lead time so I decided to go with the High Noon. I purchased the "Bare Asset" today and hopefully since they are supposedly a stocking item, it won't take more than a week to get. Not having a very effective way of concealing my XD9SC is bothersome.
