Don's Guide Rod for XD compact?

Is it true that there is no Don's Guide Rod that will fit my XD45 Compact? I emailed Pistolgear and they replied there is none for a service model, which only differs in grip length from my compact.

I'd send Don a PM and ask him if it were me.

Just what benefit do you gain when you install a new Tungsten Guide Rod in an Xd? I have an XD-9-SC and plan on upgrading real soon with a Powder River precision trigger kit and need to know what extra I will get if I install a new Guide Rod. It seems like such an easy install and I don't understand how it will help the performance of the firearm.
