Conversion Barrels for .40 service xd
I have purchased a xd .40 service model and was thinking of buying a conversion barrel to the 9mm and was wondering if anyone has some insight on how well they fit and work. Thanks

Dozens have purchased them. If you do a search, you will find many posts. Minor fitting may be required on a conversion barrel, which is an easy task with a very fine emery board.
Here is some generic info on conversion barrels. http://pistol-gear.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=28 Old School

I just shot my new EFK conversion barrel last weekend and it worked great.
It required significantly more than an emery board, however. I was able to use the OEM barrel as a template and just copy the tweaks that they had made with a small hobby file. The barrel would not drop into the locking block until I had removed quite a bit from corners of the 'C' part at the bottom of the barrel. The fit is better and tighter than OEM and it shoots great to point-of-aim. Some have reported ejection problems but I didn't have any problems running through a box of 50 9mm. |

I bought one from pistolgear.com and it functions flawlesly with the stock guide rod and shot as good or better than the stocker. also in my case it required no modification
