.40 to 9mm conversion, which one is best?

From your experience is there a "better" brand of conversion barrel than another? I know there is 3 or 4 companies out there that are making them. I want to get one for my xd40 service to convert to the 9mm for range use. Just wondering since I am a newb if one has out performed another? Also I believe I saw a ported one somewhere on here, any advantage?

I currently have 3 of the EFK conversion barrels 2 in 9mm and 1 in 357 Sig that I use on various XD 40 models I have had them over 2 years and completely happy, they dropped right in and I change them from 1 pistol to the other and accuracy is well above avg. are there better barrels out there?? maybe but I'm happy with these

Yes, I bought it and installed it. It looks very nice, have not fired it yet, but I am sure its going to be fine. My only worry is recycling using the stock .40 springs, I'll let you know after I fire it.

The EFK barrels are designed for .357 Sig and .40 cal guns to be converted to 9mm if I read it right. You will not see a .45 conversion to 9mm. They would have to create all new mags to fit. A 9mm mag will fit in the magwell of a .357 Sig (AFAIK) and the .40 (I know that for sure). So the conversion is very simple.
