Magazines
Hi Guys,
I'm sure the topic has been discussed here before but I'll be darned if I can find it. I have several XD-9 magazines with the old ten round capacity. Is there any way to modify them to increase the capacity ?? I apologize for not being able to navigate better here but I'm rather new to this forum. Thanks, and, y'all have a really great day. melt on the magazine body is pinched in more to force the bullets into a single stack. Assuming high cap is legal in your state, just spend the 20-25 bucks to buy a new 16rnd magazine and sell your old ones.

If you could cut the dimples they should hold 12-13. If you want a compact size mag but more capacity you should look into the .40 cal mag. I use one for my IDPA 11rnd and it has never had a FTF or FTE or any other malfunction. Just be weary because a 40 cal mag is NOT designed to hold 9mm ammo and MAY not be reliable. You will need to bend the lips in just a tad to seat the bullet right. Search on the net. They have before and after pictures to compare what it must look like.

Also, keep in mind that in a SD situation, a modified magazine could land you in loads of ouch.

Really? I'm curious. Can you cite a case where a modified magazine was a significant factor in a conviction?

I believe that what Se2002 was referring to as the "ouch factor" was my likely reaction to a malfunction caused by the modified mag that would leave me standing there with a really dumb look on my face while some bad guy uses my mothers youngest son for target practice.
Thanks guys. I thought if it was something on the order of pulling out a spacer block I would play with it. This is my primary carry piece so NOTHING second rate goes into it. Thanks for the clarification. Y'all have a really great day. CLOUD CUTTER
