Aluminum, water and graphite are not a good grouping. The graphite will start to attack the aluminum under these conditions through galvanic corrosion.

Breakfree is good but I prefer Weapon Shield as a true all in one product.

I use Hoppes "Elite" cleaner, and Hoppes Dri-Lube. I'm still not sure about the Dri-Lube...it's very hard to control the spray, and leaves a gross white resiude everywhere. It also is hard to clean off plastic, so it's a PITA to use an a polymer gripped gun. It does do a good job of lubricating, though...

I use Break Free, Bore Snake, tooth brush, q-tips and compressed air to blow things out. Leave a little CLP on the recommended lube points and I'm good to go in humid GA. A Silicon gun cloth for the exterior is the only addition to the above in the 6 month summer we have.

CLP has been used by the Military for a long time in many environments. It wouldn't kill me if I had to use it, I just think WS is a better product.

And for those that think light lube or dry lube is better:

I don't leave it soaking wet with lube....you lube it up, cycle it a few times then air compress the excess off. Sure grease collects dust and stuff....any liquid does. I have never had a problem with it.

I have heard a few guys say they use motor oil for their gun...how does that work out for you all?
