Cleaner

I use Breakfree mostly. Sometimes I put a little grease on the lugs. I use Shooter Choice high tech grease.
One thing I noticed is that when I use the Breakfree the grease doesnt want to stick to the lugs.
I have a couple spray cans of "degreaser/cleaner" when I have to really clean the innards, I dont use it every time I clean.
Later,
Jack

Don't you guys find that CLP makes a mess? Maybe I'm using it wrong, but it gets everywhere and completely covers your hands.

I now do my cleaning over a sink. Where do you guys clean and how much CLP do you use?

I use clp as a cleaner only. I lube with dri-slide advanced weapons lube. Have not had any problems at all.

I use Eezox primarily, but if my gun is really dirty I'll use WD40 to help loosen and wash away the gunk.

But basically, I use CLP for most of my cleaning and lubricating.

Otis=Breakfree

I use Otis gun oil. It cleans very well and is good lube/corrosion inhibitor too. It's also easy to find and inexpensive. I have been told that there is no difference between Otis and Breakfree.

I use CLP and find it work well but I discovered that my smoke detector doesn't like it. I've only cleaned my weapons once since moving to my new apartment and when I cleaned my new XD Tactical 357 sig the d*mn smoke/fire detector went off. I openned the outside patio door and a minute later the alarm went off so I went back to celaning and it went off again. PITA, the last thing I want is the fire depatment or police showing up at my apartment while I'm fondling my weapons!

I use bore snakes on all my guns, and a simple spray for cleaning/lubing. The combo works well. I found that using to much lube, etc. attracts ALOT of sand/dust out here in the desert. I lightly oil my XD's and not one error after 500 rounds each.
