I have not used it on an XD, but I do have one of my 22/45 and I like it. I prefer to use night sights on my CC/HD guns, which my XDs are. If it were a target gun, or game gun only I would consider a Fiber Optic sight.

I just had Gander Mtn install a HiViz red fiber optic front sight on my XD45. I shoot it in USPSA and carry it. It's nice and bright and looks great. Haven't shot it since installed but will next week. I'll try to get some pics posted next week.

I have a HiViz on my Mossberg 590 20" barrel and I think it's terrific. You won't go wrong on the XD with a HiViz. If you want night sight capability and fiber optic, try the TFO Tritium sights.
