Laser Sights

Getting old here - - - and developing all the problems that go along with it.

I'm looking for a laser sight . The type that replaces the spring guide.

Any thoughts on using these will be appreciated - - also looking for manufacturer type and dealer.

I've got 20/20 DISTANT vision in my RIGHT (dominant) eye and 20/20 NEAR vision in my LEFT eye. I can still hit a target on the range (would be much better if my arms were a bit longer) it just takes me a few seconds to get the correct sight picture.

My concern is carrying in dim / unlit areas I won't have that "few seconds" needed for target aquisition.

Any thoughts here will be greatly appreciated.

Y'all have a really great day

Laser Max is the product name of the unit that replaces the guide rod/spring.
I personally use the crimson trace grips on my revolver. They are available for the XD also but I do not have them yet.
The laser max product has the on/off switch on the take down lever, which to me is something I might forget to do when "needed" in a self defense situation.
The CT grip is activated when you grab the gun with you natural grip, no extra moves needed.
I think I have also read on this site that the Laser Max has had malfunction issues. I can't remember what but if you do a search you will find them.
Good luck with which ever you choose.

SUPER TRUCKER.

Thanks for the advice. I have ordered the Crimson Trace. It should be in in a few days.

Your comments were much appreciated.
