trigger bar

Ive been reading about the different trigger jobs people have done with their pistols, and Ive been thinking of improving my trigger some, so here is my question

I just want to take up the pre travel and reset on my XD40SC, If I can also reduce over travel thats fine too. but I have no desier to change the trigger pull weight, or change the primer strike. all I am looking to do is take up the "slop" in the trigger if you will.

to do this do I just need to get a new trigger bar? or is there more involved with this type of trigger job?

Powder river safety lever will resolve all of these issues.

I was of the same opinion, just wanted to reduce "pre-travel and over-travel". I ordered Powder River's lever with the set screw and Daniel sent me the springs with the order. I figured that since I had the gun apart, I might as well try the springs too. I will never go back! This is my CCW and my all time favorite weapon now!

If you're hesitant to tackle the job yourself, get a gunsmith to do it or just send it in to PRP for a really professional job!

You might want to watch a tear-down/rebuild of the XD to make up your mind.

+1 on PRP.
That will minimize the pre and overtravel without springs for $33.75 or 48.75 with sear spring and trigger spring.

Or you can add a Springer Precision trigger bar and sear. That cleans up the pre and lets you adjust the overtravel. The sear and trigger bar cost $130 together with sear spring and trigger spring or $140 with all of that plus striker springs and striker safety spring. This option is more expensive due to the higher degree of machine work to manufacture the parts.

cool, I think I will be ordering it tomorrow, I have already taken appart and reasembled my lower, so I think I can handle the job. there is no better way to get to know your weapon than to do a tear down.

And knowing your weapon stops you from worrying about "carrying a loaded XD", or "my gun not working right", "did I hurt my gun?", etc..

You'll love it,,,but it may require fitting. When you think you know what you need to do, call Daniel and check.

His engineering solution to this problem, and his customer service drove me to send him my gun this week for a new bbl and Dawson sights.

Not to say that others don't have great service, but Daniel has earned my business.
