Not to say that others don't have great service, but Daniel has earned my business.

I talked to him today as I ordered the kit, and he realy put me at ease, I will definatly be doing buisness with him down the road with all the other XD's I know I will be buying.

The only question I have for people who have used his kit, where did you get the tap set to thread the trigger bar? (I dont feel too comfortable drilling my frame)

That's really not a problem, but if you don't have access to a drill press you might want to reconsider not drilling the frame. I think that Daniel recommends the frame mount for 9mm. Understand, you do not weaken the frame by doing so. Just take a look at your frame in front of the trigger bar, where it bends left (looking at it from the top, back to front) there is a meaty portion above the trigger pin. Your set screw will have to be at a slight angle pointing toward that trigger pin. Draw an imaginary line from the top of the trigger pin to the face of that trigger bar; start a hole with an awl, or some pointed object. Assemble the trigger and temporarily pin it to be sure that your set screw will make contact. Once this is all aligned, disassemble and drill a guide hole. re-check every thing then enlarge the hole ever so slightly to the proper size with the drill that is provided. Install set screw and do the temporary install, adjust ...etc,...

I have a drillpress, (well its a milling machine) and a couple different jigs and clamps, so I feel like i could get a much more accurate drill on the trigger bar (also the trigger bar is easier to replace if there is a problem)

I just need to know where to get the tap to thread the trigger bar after I have drilled the hole (unless people have found that a tap isnt needed and the set screw threads itself)

or would this trigger bar do it for me Springfield XD

(I don know if its a good idea or not to mix parts, so if it is just let me know)

You can get the #4X40NC tap(with bit) at Home Depot or Lowes. Too easy.

If ya don't feel comfortable doing it, oh well. It isn't hard. Be sure to drill a pilot hole with a small bit first, if not using a press. I did two without a press....just my B&D cordless.

You'll also need a tap wrench. The wrench and tap will cost you about $10. It's kind of a key chuck like wrench that you put your tap into that keeps you from over-wrenching your tap.

If you really don't wanna drill it. You can drill your frame. Or you can order a Springer trigger bar. It works exactly the same, but you file instead of drill. It doesn't call so much queasiness! And, though you spend more money, you'll get to deal with two great XD pistolsmiths! If PG is out, just go directly to Springer's site and give them a call!

Good shot! But, if you frame mount your screw, it MAY disqualify your gun for IDPA since that would be an "external" modification to the trigger.

installing the screw in the frame is not an external mod. you may be misunderstanding were the screws is installed. maybe this pic will help.

Good pic! You are correct, I was misunderstanding. Thx for words! That looks harder than drilling the trigger bar. What do you think? I, of course, haven't done it that way. I'd guess you have to be careful to not drill through? Your engineering continues to impress.

It isn't that hard to do if you use some caution and patience. I think that it gives you a much stronger fix then drilling the trigger bar. You also do not need to buy a tap as the screw can tap it's own threads in the plastic. This will give you 100% thread contact verses the 75% that is typical of a taped thread.

but wouldnt he have to get the springer sear for the trigger bar to work? i seem to recall that it either *technically* shouldnt be fitted or is incompatible with the stock parts?
