Conceal Carry, small guy

I have come across a bit of a problem. Let me start of by saying I am 5'9" and 165lbs. I have recently acquired a xd40 service and am having a bit of an issue being able to conceal it without printing. With bigger jeans and a large t-shirt I still find the gun being rather noticeable.

I have a feeling, with summer coming up, the situation isn't going to get any better. I was wondering if anyone on the forum had any tips or tricks that they would recommend. I am currently using a cheap blackhawk IWB holster that i was planning to replace with a crossbread supertuck, but after reading some of the posts on the board I do not know if it will be a better option or not.

Do any of the smaller guys have any suggestions? Is IWB the way to go? What about carrying postion? Maybe retiring the service to nightstand duty and picking up a xd40sc is the way to go. Any insight you all can provide will be greatly appreciated.

I'm 6ft, 145lbs, and I carry and xd40 service. I use a Comp-tac Pro Undercover IWB and wear it at the 3 - 3:30 position. The only problem I have with printing is when I'm wearing a smaller t-shirt. I now mostly wear the button up plaid type shirts, untucked and it conceals very well.

I'm smaller framed as well and I can only conceal my service model pretty good during the colder months. I bought a xdsc and its much easier to conceal...I'm currently using a MTAC holster at about 4:00. Its still kind of thick for summer carry so I might be carrying my keltec pf9 quite a bit this summer.

Concealed carry

I recently picked up a fobus ankle holster for my XD-9 Subcompact the only way it will print on anything is if I kick someone with that leg and lead with the correct part of my ankle.

Check us out our Holsters ride very low to the belt line, and have a fully adjustable cant. This way you can find the sweet spot that works for you.If it does not work for you simply send it back for a total refund..That is how we do business.
Thank You Isabel

I am 5'10 and 155 lbs....close to your build. I tried my friend's Crossbreed Supertuck with my XD40 Service and had no issues at all with printing carrying at about 4:00-5:00...I was wearing a heavy, dark colored T-Shirt. That said: it is not how I would carry in the summer...when I tend to only wear white T-Shirts....

I wish there was someone local that had a supertuck i could try out. Maybe I will post on some of the local forums and see what I can find. 4:00 - 5:00 seems to be the best carrying position for me as well.

Do any other small guys have any additional insight?

where are you from? I've about the same size as you and been wearing my XD45 service without an issue. Even tho I think its printing but no one else has notice. I did how ever purchase a sub compact for better summer carry but I think its more because I wanted another gun. shhhh...........

I'm about the same size with a XD9 Service... I've got 3 holsters, OWB paddle, Comptac CTAC, and a Smartcarry. The only one I can use without any printing is my Smartcarry.
