Grip Shortened

Who do you recommend to do some surgery on my XD9 Service? I'm wanting to put a SC-size grip on it and am too chicken to do it myself.
Who's da man ?

YOU da man. You can do it. I think someone around here has a detailed account on how to do it.

I appreciate the support Packerfan, but I'm just not there yet. I'll have to find that "how-to" and see if it dispels some of my doubt . . . .

Maybe this is even a better question, and more to the heart of the matter :

Is it: 1) silly to want to put a sub-grip on a service?
2) going to be as comfortable/cool/shootable as I have imagined in
my head?

I love the SC and actually shoot it better than my service, but I can't tell you if it's because of the barrel length or the grip length.

Nothing like a dog chasing his tail . . . .

When I cut my XD9service grip down, I found it to be that much more enjoyable. I loved the flexibility.

Tell me more . . . is it possible that someone might have a chopped service that they're wanting to sell/trade?

All you have to do is ask. Check out the trading bin. But you will have to wait until you contribute at least 100 posts before you can complete any sell or trade I believe.

So let me get this straight... You want a Sub-Compact grip on your Service 9? Or a Compact grip on your Service 9? Because they don't have the 9mm Service Compact out yet do they? Anyway I checked and the diff. between the 45 service compact grip and a Sub-Compact 9 grip is 0.25"

Yes. I'm wanting a sub-compact grip on my service 9. You are correct, the XD9 only comes in a sub-compact, as there is no compact offering in 9mm. I believe the "compact" is reserved for the 45 only?

It may be a stupid idea, and then again . . . .
