IIRC you can get a rechargeable battery kit for the G2. IMO the smaller size of the G2 and other similar sized flashlights is what makes them so great along with their much better light output compared to a Maglite.

SureFire KR1 Rechargeable Conversion Kit for G2 Flashlight, KR1Kit SHIPS FREE on orders $29.95 & up

It drives the price of the flashlight up to a little over 100 bucks though. But you get a lightweight, indestructible, high output, rechargeable flashlight. Get the G2L model and you will also have the LED bulb and from experience that last a while.

I know you said you wanted a recharge, but take a look at the Fenix TK10. Runtime is 1.5 hrs with 225 lumens or 10hours with 60 lumens. Best price I've seen online is $73 shipped. This little light is getting some rave reviews on candlepowerforum.

I don't think you can go wrong with the Surefire 6P LED. You can buy the upgrade kit to convert it to a rechargable system.
6PL - One of SureFire's Smallest & Best LED Flashlights

I work for Streamlight and I find that TK10 to be a really neat light for the money. I really cannot make any other suggestions outside of Streamlight products.

I'd definately get an LED light because of the following reasons.
1)requires less engery to run which means longer runtime
2)LEDs don't get nearly as hot as incadescent
3)Not having to buy replacement bulbs every 25-30 hours.

You could take a look at our Stinger LED with DS mode.
We have the Strion which is currently only offered in an incadescent bulb, but we will be releasing an LED version sometime this year.

the Fenix TK10 is a pretty sweet light, just that being in attics all day would mean daily battery changes which I would need to carry spare batteries, always make sure I have some charged etc..

Any one know what the Lumen of the maglight 2d is with the 3w LED conversion? Is it 65 lumens?

why was this moved to the accessories subforum? This forum is about accessories for the XD or HS2000 and this post is about flashlights not for guns... seems to fit better in a general chat area and will see more action

Best little light I have ever owned. Bright and blinding as the sun.

Edit: Here is a video I made to show the strobe
YouTube - Olight T-20 Bright, Strobe, SOS Modes
This was taken at a distance of about 20 feet.

Sorry to be doubting Thomas, but what gives? What do you sacrifice to get 205 lumens for under $60.00? I'm stunned . . . .

Welcome to Black Bear Flashlights

I have a Bear Cub and it is really nice.
Just got an email back from him with my options and nothing really seems to fit my application and the cost is pretty high for a modded maglite. I will probably be looking into the g2l with recharge kit or or the Fenix p3d q5. I really like the fenix model as it has many modes.

It would seem that the larger corporations have more overhead and thus increased cost and a need to sell for increased money.

I have this: https://www.fenix-store.com/product_...roducts_id=227
Quote:
• Utilizes a Cree 7090 XR-E LED with a life of 50,000 hours
• Two modes of output, selected by turning the bezel
• General Mode: 9 lumens (65hrs) -> 40 lumens (13hrs) -> 90 lumens (4.8hrs) -> SOS
• Turbo Mode: 160 lumens (1.8hrs) -> Strobe
33 days of survival use (2 continuous hours per day on the lowest setting)
65 hours of use at the lowest setting and 1.8 hours at the highest is pretty darn good, plus the SOS mode is just darn cool.

I don't ever expect to get lost on the sea or stranded in the wilderness, but if I do and I have my flashlight it has an SOS mode.
