I talked to a guy at the gun shop close to base and he said he wouldnt recomend porting on a self defense weapon beacuse its designed the way it is for a reason. I think porting would be good for a xd40sc cause you'd have less muzzle rise, i mean they make the v10 ported right

they way he's doing the porting makes the gun available for both types of barrels without extending the barrel. So you can have ported and non. Thats a big PLUS.

Just got my wife's Glock 19 back from Bob Cogan at Accurate for porting. Here is a link to my thread about it: Glock back from custom shop! Pics - TheFiringLine Forums
They do an excellent job. I did not go with the Ceraguard, but probably will in the future when the pistol needs it. Bob is a legend, and if he is using the process, you'd better believe he researched the hell out of it, and it will live up to his standards.

wow.. they are pretty ruthless on The Firing Line forums.. some of those posts were just harsh..
i think the pics were really well done, and the pistol looks great.. considering it's a Glock.. it's too bad the porting didn't really make that much of a difference with the 9mm.. it could be that the porting holes in the barrel were too large and really designed for the 10mm/40S&W.. porting does work.. there are .22LR match pistols that are ported, and there's not much recoil from a .22LR.. |
