Smile New to XD! Grip Modification!

Hi folks,
Is there any custom shops that do cut down on the grip frames? I own the service model and would like the option of the compact for carry. It looks to be easy to do by shortening the frame! If I want the full size just add mag extensions to the hicaps. Thanks!

I know Springer Precision does. I'll bet Canyon Creek does also.

There is also a very good "how to" by Packerfan on this site as well. Search "Grip Chop" and you should find it. Not something I would want to tackle, but you might. Good luck!

I email Scott from Springer Precision.

Welcome to Springer Precision

He quoted me $75 at that time. Might be different now. I would send it to Scott rather than doing it myself, as I'm a perfectionist. I'm thinking of having mine done while the wife and kids go visit grandma

I'm a coward, I'll admit it. I would screw it up and then some. Email Scott at Springer - he is a sponsor of this forum and have him work on it. Make a list of other things to have him do too while he has it - might as well get the most "bang" out of your shipping buck.
