Want to make a super accurate XD45

I have a standard 4" XD45. I have a cap of around $700.00 to put into the weapon. I want to end up with the most accurate XD I can get for $700.00. Any info, ideas, suggestions, or recommended gunsmiths would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

PistolGear has match SS barrels. They might have one for you needs, Oh the 5" barrel has a longer sight radius and should produce more velocity ( Not 100% sure ) a longer barrel should always provide better accuracy, unless there are other issues.
Ammo plays a big part in accurate shooting, pick the one your weapon shoots best or better yet load you own..
Just some thoughts

I have a XD 45 5". I haven't done any modifications yet, but am seriously considering a trigger job and new sights.

As far as sights goes, it seems the purpose of the gun greatly drives the type of sights you get. My 45 is primarly for HD so I'm probably going to go with TFO sights. If it was just a target gun I probably would have decided on smaller, tighter sights.

I can do it for you. Dawson Adjustable sights Bar-Sto MT barrel and MT trigger job. These are the best mods for the money. It will be well under your price point as well.

i recommend the upgrades suggested above. but its not really gonna make the pistol itself that much more accurate...however i believe it will make it much easier for YOU to be more accurate with it. the xds are pretty darn good stock. but the upgraded feel is just soo sweet. you got WAY enough money to pimp it out to the max...so have fun

You want to make "it" more accurate? Practice...

I recommend Scott Springer and Canyon Creek for all your XD needs.

I am a certified Counter Sniper and I shoot high 90's on the combat course. I have also performed entry work on an SRT (SWAT) team. I agree that practice and proper technique are 99% of effective shooting. My goal here is to make my XD into a 150 meter target pistol. So far, I can hit reliably at 100 meters, but not as accurately as I like. The weapon, as a platform, is not designed for this type of shooting and I wanted to see if I could mod it out to work better for me at these ranges.
