Who carries while working a trade or construction? What holtser works best for you?

Wondering what everyone is using while working outdoors, in tight places, or just heavy laboring, while sweating. I need a new holster but am scared that the kydex/leather ones (MTAC, Crossbread) will stretch behind the kydex from sweat and repeated movement therefore making retention a problem. The mtac or other similar holsters seem to fit the bill other than retention. What works for you?

I am currently using an uncle mikes sidekick in size 5 with a sleve holster sewn to it for pading. It moves around, and is very uncomfortale (especially when sweating). But it does have 2 velcro tabs that keeps it in the holster.

Im 6'3" and 175 so its hard to conceal when the cant is always changing.

I have researched this alot and seen alot of good info, but nothing that fits my situation.

Thanks for your input, its appreciated.

Just as soon as they allow truck drivers to carry, I will. Until then, one could only dream.

As long as you have the concealed carry permit that is valid in the state you are presently in, you can carry. Look into the laws. You can carry, especially at nite it is your domicile(house/Home).

The crossbred supertuck comes in Horsehide leather for thoes who live in more humid conditions.

I live in Florida, and pretty much sweat walking out the door in the summer, so I orderd mine with the Horse hide.

A nylon GunMate paddle holster with thumb-break retaining strap for the J-frame. It's canted forward and keeps the revolver's handle tucked in towards my body fairly well, don't have too many problems with printing. I don't know if they make a similar product for XD's or if it would work for ya, but this little cheapie has lasted me for years and is comfortable to wear.

I have a uncle mikes side kick inside the pants holster. I worck on cars all day. Specifically car audio and security. I am on my knees bending down croutching climbing in and out of back seats laying upside down in the underdash. I have never had a problem with mine falling out. I carry more to the front than the side. I do not have a problem with it moving either.

I'm not talking about the "laws" as much as I am the companies. I have yet to hear about one single trucking company that allows their drivers to carry a firearm.

On top of that, even if a company allowed a driver to carry, they would still be forced to follow the laws of any given city/state they may be driving to/through.

It's a law as per DOT. It has nothing to do with city or state law

Always have to look up the state gun laws. Going for my Conceals here in about a week and I live in Utah. To get to Washington where my parents live I can carry it within reach through Utah and Idaho, but once I get to Oregon I have to put it in the back in a case, but once I cross the border to Washington I can bring it back up with me. Or if I go the other direction to Arizona I'm fine there too.
